Swinging Home For Christmas

December 11, 2010

HELLO there people who are still interested and excited for our posts!

On Tuesday the 7th of December I was on Alexander’s Christmas show, Swinging Home For Christmas in Arendal. It was an amazing show. Literally awesome.
He played a lot of songs, among them his well-known songs from the Norwegian old show “Kjempesjansen”, Foolin and Feever.
And of course, he also played loads of Christmas Songs, and he played them one after one in an impulsive speed! Also the bassist, Torfinn and the trombonist Jens Petter were singing with him. it was really hilarious. Hahahaha

There were also two or actually three guest artists. There were a girl from Arendal, whom I can’t remember the name, a guy called Ole Gustav Johansen who is famous from x-Factor, and a boy, whom I also can’t remember the name of, who was actually going to China with Alexander for the Some Sunny Night Musical.

So, regardless, I interviewed him after the show, and that was kinda amazing. Okay, truly brilliant, awesome, weird, sweet, embrassing, awkward, and terrific.
And since I’m such a good fan and friend and everything, I’ll translate the interview :)

What’s your best memory after you won?
I guess that will have to be the meeting with Will Smith. That was actually bigger than meeting Barack Obama. Will kind of became my buddy, we partied a bit and he laughed of my jokes. Yeah, I liked that guy. And, I recorded a CD with Wyclef Jean, but these are more material stuff. I can’t just main drop many people. The nicest thing must be all the child smiles.
How was it to be on stage in Arendal?
Really good. I was actually prepared for less people. Just a couple of days ago, only 30% of the tickets were sold, but you’ve got a culture coming at the door, at the same day. That’s cool, but I was very scared, because the only conserts I’ve cancelled, were in Arendal. So it felt really good to implement, it was lovely.
Which place have been the best playing in?
The one who has been the best for guarantee, is a village, because in the big cities… they are so “full” of artists. It’s like “oh, he’s coming today, that’s nice”, but the people who lives with cows and horses, suddenly there is an artist there!
Do you want to have these Chrstmas shows next year as well?
No, I feel I’m done with all these big tours. I’ve played
coherent in 2 years now, without any holiday. I’m close to 100 conserts in nealy 40 countries for 2 years. I want to do projects where I can deepen myself in one special thing, that was the the thing that was so fun with Grand Prix, that I practised for one particulary song for many months.
Do you have any future plans?
Yes, or, lately I’ve been very happy for metal, you don’t like that in Arendal, I guess(people actually do, that’s like that main music here… hahaha). I really want to mix generes, for example, what I do and black metal.
Do you have any Christmas traditions?
No… Eat rib, take a walk with Cindy, play for homeless, play in 2-3 Christian service.
You’re a charming man, is it many people asking for your phone number?
Yes, but it’s not
necessary because I’m charming. Someone wants to bother me, thus, there is many reason why to have my number. But, I do not give it away, I don’t, less I know the person.
And last, what’s the most weird thing you’ve got from a fan?
That must be…underwear, but that’s normal. A big iPod with Wall-E, it dances to the iPod. Actually a expensive gift. Lovely, I can’t call it weird, it was the most lovely.

SO, there you go, my interview with Alexander Rybak, and I got some help from my friend Malin :)

And now some more pictures

All pictures belongs to me :)

Sorry if there are lots of typos, I’m just so tired…. Haha
